Tästä lähtien kirjoitamme tätä blogia suomen lisäksi silloin tällöin myös englanniksi, jotta ulkomaalaisetkin kaverit pysyisivät kärryillä meidän touhuistamme. Tämän jutun suomenkielinen versio tullee myöhemmin...

From now on we're going to write this blog on both English and Finnish, so that also our foreign friends can have a clue on what's going on up here.

The renovation works of the apartment are finally almost done. Last weekend we installed a new floor (grey tiles) to the hallway. So that's about it! The only thing left is installing kick plates in the kitchen and hallway. That shouldn't take too long. Shouldn't.

Anyway, here are some photos from August. We made a short roadtrip to southern Finland, to Turku area to be more precise. My sister lives there, and also a lot of friends from the University.

Johanna, Miia and Perttu in the Kustavi archipelago. It was a warm day, and we had been climbing all day in Taivassalo, so swimming didn't hurt.

Some views around Kustavi. Kustavi is a really nice place with quality climbing on solid granit, swimming and great views.

Route "Sankariheviä" in Taivassalo, Kustavi. The climbing is mostly trad, but some bolted routes can also be found. They are just bloody hard. We led only easier trad routes, and toproped the more difficult ones. It had been a while since I had climbed trad, and it was also quite warm for crack climbing.

Johanna toproping "Sankariheviä". The name of the route in English would be something like "Hero Metal", the kind of music Manowar plays.

Perttu and Johanna. We went to Ruissalo natural park for a swim and picknick (How do you spell that? Piquenique?) with them. They provided us with allkinds of goodies, like icecream, panncake, chocklate cake...Very nice... And just two days ago they had their first son. Congratulations! See you around.

Rane, Johanna, Perttu and me. Turku is the oldest city in Finland, and the river that runs through it (Aurajoki) has one of the most famous views in Finland. So, what do you do with the view? Well, they have anchored these old riverboats along the river for people to go and drink some expensive Finnish beer. A nice  idea, I think.

Kalle and Silja/ Sille and Kalja.

My nephew Arttu and Madi the cat. I'm Arttu's godfather. Action is quaranteed when these two are around.

It was really a nice trip to Turku, thanks everyone and we'll be seeing you around!

Currently we're in Rovaniemi in the arctic circle, visiting our parents for the weekend. So far the
weather has been quite rainy, but it should clear up for Sunday. If it does we will go bouldering to Hiidenkirnut. This year the colours of autumn in the nature are insane, bright red and yellow all around. I think I will be taking loads of photos and upload some of them here.
